Over the past couple of months I have written simple guides for using Twitter and WordPress. I offers these guides as a resource to participants of the Digital Footprint workshops that I run. In my opinion they contain just the right amount of information for people to get past their fear of these platforms and start exploring social media in a constructive way.
These have been used by – creative professionals, small business owners, school teachers and university students. I am happy for these guides to be used by others. In fact, every now and then I pass them onto someone running a digital literacy/ social media workshop.

From students to stakeholders – an experiment

It is an understatement to say that higher education in England is in a tremendous state of flux at the moment. With the rise in fees, some universities are moving towards offering a complete student experience. Regardless of how this ideology is implemented, I feel that such a shift is bound to have an impact on the way students perceive their role in what should be a mutually beneficial relationship between themselves and the academic staff. For instance, if universities are viewed solely as service provides the resultant expectations are bound to have serious consequences.
